Hiring offshore has burned us before. How is this different?
Two things. You interview and approve every developer before they start, so nobody lands on your team sight unseen. And each one sits behind an Upforce lead who reviews the work and can replace the person quickly if the fit is wrong, so a bad match is a two-week problem, not a lost quarter.
Will there be a communication or English barrier?
Communication is part of the screen, not an afterthought. The developers write clear updates, raise blockers early in writing, and hold a live standup in your overlap window. If someone cannot communicate at that bar, they do not reach a client.
How do you protect our IP and data across borders?
IP is assigned to you in the contract, signed before any access is granted. Engineers work on company-managed, encrypted machines, access is provisioned per engagement and revoked when it ends, and we work under your NDA and security policy.
A developer is not working out. What happens, and what does it cost?
First few weeks, replaced at no cost. Later, a like-for-like replacement within about two weeks with a short paid handover overlap so context is kept. You are not billed twice for the same ramp-up.
Can we hire the developer permanently later?
Yes. No conversion fee after twelve months; before that, a modest agreed buyout. Many teams use an engagement as a long working interview before making an offer.
