Questions we get asked
How do you assess a Python developer beyond "knows the syntax"?
The interview covers data modelling, where business logic should live, how they would keep a slow endpoint from taking the process down, and how they test. We look at real production code they have written, not a portfolio of tutorials.
Do your Python developers do data or ML work?
They handle data engineering, ETL, pipelines and reporting, and can put a trained model behind an endpoint. For research-heavy ML we bring in a specialist rather than stretch a back-end generalist into a role they will not do well.
We have an older Django codebase with no tests. Can they work with that?
